Under Covid onslaught, banks change opening hours

In view of the current pandemic crisis, all banks have changed the hours of operation from April 22 to May 15 and they could be extended if necessary. Now banking services will be available to customers from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and banks will close at 4:00 p.m.
In accordance with a circular issued by the Bank of Baroda, the organizer of the State Level Banking Committee (SLBC), all branches of the bank will work with 50% staff on a rotational basis by complying with all Covid guidelines issued by central and state government from time to time. .
Baroda Bank General Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh said bank branches will undertake minimum services such as cash deposit and withdrawal, check clearing, remittances, government transactions. He said all alternative distribution channels will remain operational.
Singh further stated that the back office services of banks, namely, currency vaults, ATM cash load providers, basic banking solutions projects, offices in data centers, centers data recovery, ATM back offices, security operations centers for cybersecurity, service branches, clearing houses, bank treasury offices, Forex back office and SWIFT centers and others centers authorized by the head office of the banks will remain operational according to normal routine. The banker said any further decision taken by the district administration will supersede the instructions issued by SLBC (UP) in this regard.
