Profits season kicks off with big banks

Wall Street closed another volatile week on Friday, but the corporate earnings season kicks off next week and could provide some direction to the market.

“The week has recovered from an early sell-off and has proven to be strong enough to enter the results season ahead with a good head of steam, so let’s go ahead and see what there is to see.” CNBC’s Jim Cramer said.

Here’s Cramer’s take on the big business news coming up next week. The revenue and earnings per share projections are estimates by Factset.

Monday: AMC in the spotlight

The first signs for box office performance of the new James Bond film are strong, and that could lead to a wild move on Monday for shares of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Cramer said.

“One thing’s for sure: if Bond is doing well, AMC CEO Adam Aron will be tweeting about those box office numbers to the limit.… Adam is the kind of guy who doesn’t hesitate to say his shareholders will pass themselves off as bandits if this trajectory continues, even though many fund managers like to rant and bet against the man endlessly, ”Cramer said.
