Albertsons in Carlsbad raises funds for Special Olympics

Albertsons in Carlsbad raised approximately $22,000 through its fundraising efforts for Special Olympics. The store was the first in the state among other Albertsons Market to raise funds.

The store celebrated with an in-house event and ceremony.

The Albertsons store was #1 in the state for most funds raised for Special Olympics.

Operation Easter basket organized by the Western Commerce Bank

Western Commerce Bank is collecting donations to build Easter baskets for youth at New Mexico’s Child Advocacy Centers. Child Advocacy Centers are a network of locations across the state that provide a safe place to interview children suspected of being abused. The service areas that will receive the Easter baskets will be located in Eddy, Lea and Bernalillo counties.

From April 1 through April 13, donations can be dropped off at any Western Commerce Bank branch. Branches near you can be easily found on our website www.wcb.net.

Items suggested by Advocacy Center staff include modeling clay, small stuffed animals, small toys, movie tickets, CORE or Bio Park, personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste and comfort items like fluffy socks and hoodies of all sizes. The age of the recipients of these Easter baskets will range from infants to 18 years old. Monetary donations from our community will also be accepted.
