The assembly constituency of Bhowanipore in southern Calcutta will vote on Thursday. Alipore, Bhowanipore, Kalighat, Chetla, Shakespeare Sarani, Park Street, New Market and Tollygunge are part of the constituency.
Offices and shops
All offices and shops beyond 200 meters from the polling stations will remain open.
No traffic restrictions. The cars could be stopped and the occupants questioned, police said.
People strolling near the polling stations will be questioned. Those who do not present identity documents and do not justify the reason for their visit may be sanctioned.
Cash in hand
Those caught with more than 50,000 rupees will be subject to close scrutiny. Documents on the source of the money must be taken. Failure to present documents may result in the seizure of the cash and the arrest of the person carrying it.

Identification of voters
The voter must present the electoral identity card with photo or one of the following documents at the polling station
- Aadhaar card; MNREGA work card; Booklet with photo issued by the bank / post office; Health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labor; Driver’s license; PAN card; Smart card issued by RGI under NPR; Passport; Pension document with photo; Service ID card with photograph issued by central / state government / PSUs / public limited companies; Official identity card issued to deputies / deputies / MLC
